Happy New Year Ladies and Gents!! I hope your holiday season was filled with love & happiness and you’re all set for what 2017 has in store! To be honest, this year was the first time I didn’t actually write down my “New Years Goals”. Going into 2016 I knew exactly what I wanted, a new city, new job, and a fresh start. But now that I’ve accomplished all I set out for last year I’m not exactly sure that I want anything new to happen.
This 2017 season for me is all about evolving. You can think of it as growing a flower. I’ve laid my foundation to grow the roots and now I’m putting in the work to bloom. Persistent with my actions. Remaining curious to always be open to new opportunities for learning. And ultimately allowing God to lead me where he wants me to be.
“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20
I would be lying if I said everything happened perfectly in 2016. There were times when I was unsure, failed, and rejected from career opportunities that I felt were perfect for me. But on the flip side, I worked for to amazing companies (Marie Claire and Jimmy Choo), I moved into my first apartment in the city, I landed a full-time job in Digital Marketing, and I’m finishing up my last semester in Grad School!
In addition to God being so amazing through this journey, I’d like to think a lot of it had to do with my many sacrifices and being confident in my abilities all while constantly reflecting on why I originally decided to move to New York.
This year I want to keep all of that going. I encourage you to do the same. Faith. Persistence. Win! We got this!
Last but not least, a special thank you to all of you who have supported me throughout this journey. Whether it be reading along, sending comments, texts, emails, or messages it all keeps my going. Love you all!
