Spring Trends 2017: Embroidery

Who else is anxious for Spring?? I know I am. After our fifth snow day in the city, I was done with Winter. This upcoming season I’m letting my legs glow in mini skirts, showing a little more skin with off the shoulder tops, and of course rocking my one of my new favorite trends, Embroidery!

Believe it or not, Embroidery has been around for decades. Let’s just call it a comeback! Designers, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, all had stunning designs with their use of embellishments. The Spring 2017 runway shows were covered in embroidered garments. I for one, am in love with it! Just as much as I am with this skirt from ZARA (for only $25)!

The stitched flowers on this skirt are nearly three dimensional and really catch the light, showing off the detailing. It is a remarkable way to tie in spring, as opposed to the plain floral prints. This new embroidery trend looks much more refined and expensive. I paired this skirt with a white button up, yellow jacket, and black booties. A perfect outfit for spring brunch dates, don’t you think? Not to mention, Yellow just puts you in good spirits! This faux leather motto jacket is a purchase from last year but I have a feeling it will be in heavy rotation.

I appreciate the embroidery trend. As you mentioned it’s a nice change from floral print. Love the pop of hello from the jacket!! You did a great job styling this outfit.
