New York Fashion Week kicked off on February 9! But since I’m working full time I can only attend events in the evening and this weekend so Saturday morning I had an early start at the Jill Stuart Presentation. For blogging purposes, I personally prefer presentations opposed to runway shows. Presentations are held in a smaller setting and the models stand still allowing you to see the details of each piece. Jill Stuart showcased 30 Fall / Winter looks.
Starting with my absolute favorites: Gold and Black is a color combination that I can’t get enough of! Perfect for making a statement in the Fall. The texture of the coat is so rich!
The dresses and tops all had ruffles and velvet detailing for a subtle detail.
For accessories, five looks incorporated these gorgeous patent leather thick waist belts that stole the show. I have to have one!
Even though it would be too cold in the winter for sheer in New York I think I could make it work in the fall. I loved the contest with the velvet under this vibrant red blazer.
The models all wore sleek hair styles with braid detailing and brown smoky under eyes. I typically use black for my smokey eye but the brown looks a lot softer.
So a few takeaways: We know the chunky belt is a must have, I really want to try a smokey eye with brown eyeshadow instead of black, and last but not least I have to find a statement coat!
