I’m so excited to finally clean out my wardrobe. It’s full of pieces that are too small, outdated, and of course, those random pieces I bought when I didn’t need anything but just had the urge to spend. Note to self: Stop the madness, it’s junking up your closet….Okay enough rambling, let’s start cleaning!
The Capsule Wardrobe
Building a capsule wardrobe is the best way to downsize, clean out your closet, or start a basic foundation for a new wardrobe. For those of you wondering what is a capsule wardrobe, it consists of about 30-40 timeless staple pieces you love. They can be mixed and matched, worn in more than one season, and most importantly they never go out of style.
Tip #1: Starting a capsule wardrobe will make life simple! These essential pieces will be your foundation. Choose neutral colors that pair with anything, then over time you can pair them with statement pieces.
Tip #2: You get what you pay for. Invest in quality essentials. Trust me you will appreciate a quality white v-neck t-shirt. No one likes to replace their favorite tee every year.
Tip #4: Your lifestyle and daily routine will play a part in what you include. Factor in what you like to wear often. For example, a student might invest in a quality leather moto jacket while a young professional might invest in a black suit.
Tip #5: Have at least 3 outfits in mind before purchasing, this will help you determine if is worth including. You need to be able to get your money’s worth!
